The pieces below were included to showcase my ability to write argumentatively. Unlike all of the other works in my portfolio, the effectiveness of these essays is dependent upon my ability to understand, analyze and interpet literature and to form a thesis that is successfully supoorted. All three were written in my freshman year at the University of Michigan.
The pieces below were written during my sophomore year at the University of Michigan for a class that explored "creative non-fiction". They are far more personal than the previous set of essays. At many times, they reveal something about my life and how I've grown as a person rather than just as a writer. These peices were also my first attempts at creative writing, although still non-fictional.
